A Must Read For All GTBank Account Holders (Do Not 4 Victim)

GTBank's Internet Banking Security Tips

Please note the following:

  • Never login to GTBank internet banking through a link from your email, even if the email appears to have been sent from GTBank. Type the web address in yourself.

  • The beginning of your internet banking page address will change from ‘http’ to ‘https’ when a secure connection is made.

  • Be wary of any unexpected pop-ups that appear during your online banking session as our software doesn’t allow external pop-ups.

  • Subscribe to SMS alert to view each transaction in real time. If you receive an alert for a transaction you didn’t initiate or authorise contact GTConnect immediately.

  • Fraudsters sometimes try to trick people into making a real payment by claiming “it’s just a test”, don’t fall for it.

  • Make sure your contact details with the Bank are up-to-date so you can receive SMS alerts on your mobile devices.

  • Never give anyone your login details in full either by email or over the phone. GTBank will never request these from you.
  • The login pages of our Internet Banking are secured through an encryption process, so a locked padlock or unbroken key symbol should appear in your browser window when accessing your GTBank Login page.

  • Please, also note that GTBank, its staff or agents will never call or send you an email to request any of your passwords, token generated codes, card details or Personal Identification Number (PIN).

More info:

This is a warning to all GTB account holders, please take your time to read and also take note of the images attached.
There is a scam email circulating and it looks so real. Don't ask me how i got to know.

The only perfect trick about their scam is the email the scam message is originating from ""gens@gtbank.com" <gens@gtbank.com>" same email GTB uses to send transaction notifications. Now you ask how they got this, let me spare the details.

But be careful. Check the images below and note the difference in the website. I don't have much time to explain all but the image is explanatory enough, a word is enough for the wise. I can tell you authoritatively that money can be transferred from your account without the dummy token you have with you.

THE EMAIL IS AS FOLLOWS, JUST IN-CASE YOU'VE GOTTEN IT WITH IMAGES AND IT'S SO PERFECT THAT YOU WON'T NOTICE CONSIDERING THE EMAIL ADDRESS THEY USED AND ALSO THE WEBSITE YOU'RE DIRECTED TO.

NOTE : THIS UPDATE MUST BE DONE IMMEDIATELY OR YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DISABLED.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOW THIS IS WHAT THE REAL WEBSITE LOOKS LIKE.

NOTE:

1.THE WEBSITE ADDRESS IS FTTP AND NOT FTP
HTTP MEANS Hypertext Transfer Protocol WHILE FTP MEANS file transfer protocol

2. THE WEBSITE IS ALSO VERIFIED WHICH YOU CAN CONFIRM FROM THE ADDRESS BAR (VERIFIED BY VERISIGN) A FTP CAN NEVER BE VERIFIED

3. THEN THE THIRD ONE WHICH IS MORE OF AN OVERSIGHT BECAUSE IT'S EASY TO ADD IS THE TIME AND DATE ON THE ORIGINAL WEBSITE.

NOW COMPARE THAT TO THE IMAGE BELOW,  THIS IS THE WEBSITE YOU'LL BE DIRECTED TO FROM THE LINK YOU GET IN THE EMAIL. ITS A FTP THAT COLLECTS YOUR DETAILS IN A DATABASE LIKE A FORM DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM.

SO BE VIGILANT, BESIDES, A BANK WILL NOT ASK YOU TO UPDATE YOUR DETAILS ONLINE. YOU SHOULD RATHER DO THAT AT THE BANKING HALL WHERE YOU CAN GO BACK TO HOLD SOMEONE RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG.

THIS IS THE BEST I CAN DO,  GOOD LUCK.

Kindly share this information.
